Will Perkd read my card’s barcode?

Every barcode, and the cards without one

Perkd renders seventeen barcode symbologies. For the cards that have none, it takes a picture.

Point the camera at the barcode and the card is in. The ones that carry no barcode at all are photographed instead — and behave exactly the same afterwards.

What that means

Whatever your card uses, it reads

Every barcode format the cards in the library actually use — including Codabar and ITF, the two most often left out elsewhere.

And it gets read the first time

The screen brightens on its own while the barcode is up, and the card turns sideways so the scanner sees it the way it expects.

No barcode? Still a card

Photograph it, or make the card yourself with your own name and picture. Either way it is searchable, backed up, and on the same shelf as the rest.

Nothing to type in

The scan is matched against 10,000+ card types, so the name, the artwork and the barcode format arrive with it.
