What kinds of cards can I put in Perkd?

What you can keep in it

The gym tag, the library card, a member number written on a receipt. They are all cards here.

Loyalty and stamps, memberships, coupons, gift and stored value, tickets and passes, employee and alumni cards, subscriptions — plus anything card-shaped with no category at all, and cards you make yourself.

What that means

The seven kinds it already knows

Loyalty & stamps, Memberships, Coupons, Gift & stored value, Tickets & passes, Employee & alumni ID and Subscriptions — each with the behaviour that kind of card expects.

And the things that behave like cards

A gym tag, a library card, a members’ number on a receipt, a business card you would otherwise lose. Add it and it lives on the same shelf as the rest — no brand had to register it first.

Or make one that never existed

Give it your own name and your own picture. A card nobody issues, for something you want to keep hold of anyway — and it behaves like every other card once it is there.

One shelf, sorted for the counter

Cards group by kind as you add them, and the one you need can come to the top — nearest shop first, when you turn location on.

A library that already has yours

10,000+ card types are in the library, so most cards arrive complete with their artwork and format from a single scan.

The specifics

Checkable, one line each

  • Anything card-shaped with no barcode can be photographed and behaves like any other card afterwards — searchable, backed up, restorable.
  • A card can also be created from scratch, with a name and picture the user chooses, for something no brand issues.

Questions

What kinds of cards can Perkd hold?
Loyalty & stamps, Memberships, Coupons, Gift & stored value, Tickets & passes, Employee & alumni ID and Subscriptions — and anything else card-shaped, which you add by photographing it or by making the card yourself.
Can I add a card that isn’t from a big brand?
Yes. A local gym tag, a library card or a member number on a receipt all work: scan the barcode if it has one, photograph the card if it does not. Nothing has to be registered by a brand first.
Can I make my own card?
Yes. You can create a card from scratch with your own name and picture for it, and it behaves like every other card in the wallet afterwards — searchable, backed up, and it restores on a new phone.
Does Perkd sort my cards for me?
Cards group by kind as you add them, and if you turn location on, the card for the shop you are nearest comes to the top.
